"It's time to do well." Hanwha's original fireballer is revived, will FA make a big hit…ERA 2.20, Career High Season

Kim Bum-soo (30), a left-hander of the Hanwha Eagles in the Korean pro baseball league, has made a comeback for the FA season. He saved his team from a crisis by making two tough saves that are crucial to his earned run average (2.20) at the two-point range. 온라인바카라

Kim Bum-soo took the mound in relief at the bottom of the 11th inning with two outs and a runner on first base with a 3-2 lead over KIA in Gwangju on the 7th. Kim Bum-soo was urgently put in when right-hander Kim Jong-soo threw the first ball against left-handed batter Choi Won-joon in the situation where the tying runner was out. Kim Bum-soo, who took over the unfavorable count but made a ball count of 2-2, ended the game by inducing a fly ball to the left field with his sixth slider. His second save of the season.

Earlier on April 27, there was a similar situation against KT in Daejeon. At that time, closer Kim Seo-hyun took a rest, but Kim Bum-soo was called in a hurry in the ninth inning with two outs and runners on the first and second bases. He made a save by handling Jang Joon-won to the third base in a burdensome situation where the come-from-behind runner was out. Both of this year's saves were even more thrilling because they were tough saves that were kept in a situation where the tying runner was out.

There is one more impressive scene. At the match against Samsung in Daejeon on June 7, he recorded a hold by striking out Lewin Diaz to center field and Park Byung-ho to miss and swing in the seventh inning with one out and runners on the first and third bases. He threw a jigsaw to Park Byung-ho, who was absolutely weak with five hits and four home runs in 11 at-bats against him, struck out swinging and roaring with his whole body.

Kim Bum-soo pitched 16 ⅓ innings in 28 games this season, recording two saves and two holds with an ERA of 2.20 strikeouts. His career-high is that of WHIP (1.10) and hit rate (.200) as his lowest ERA over 4.19 in 2023. He has always been an unstable pitcher, but his walks per nine innings this season fell to 3.3 (5.7) compared to his career record.

Kim Bum-soo, who graduated from Bukil High School and wore Hanwha's uniform as the first designated player in 2015, has drawn attention as he accelerated his speed to 150 kilometers since joining the team. He has become a fixture in the first division since 2018, and has been assigned to the bullpen since 2021. He posted a total of 68 holds, including the most 27 holds in a single season in Hanwha's history in 2022.

Despite the ups and downs, he was the most frequent and most thrown pitcher in the Hanwha bullpen. He played in 78 games in 2022 and 76 games in 2023, throwing more than 60 innings for the second consecutive year. However, he struggled with 5.29 ERA with four holds in 39 games (34 innings) last year, and was out for the season in August due to damage to his left oblique muscle and triceps. He also ended his pitching record in more than 50 innings for the fifth consecutive year.

After recovering from the sabbatical last year, Kim showed off his best condition since the spring camp. "His body itself is completely different from last year's. Last year, I felt so heavy that I couldn't recover myself. I had injuries late last year, and I think I got better after resting a lot," he said. After playing in the second division once in the early days of this season, he is showing signs of rebounding from his pitching.

The team is also motivated by the FA season. "It depends on something very important this year. He worked really hard and he got better. He is playing his role well against left-handed hitters. It's time to do well," Hanwha manager Kim Kyung-moon said.

Kim Bum-soo's rebound is also a way to effectively hire coaching staff. Usually, he writes short one-point or two-point conversions based on left-handed hitters, creating conditions for Kim to display optimal performance with confidence. Kim is also maximizing his strengths with fastballs and two-pitch sliders. The slider has become much sharper. Not only left-handed hitters but also right-handed hitters are making good pitching, and more and more pitchers have recently taken the mound to complete one inning.

As Cho Dong-wook will join the rotation as a substitute for Ryu Hyun-jin, who suffered an adductor injury, the Hanwha Eagles will have to operate the left-hander's bullpen as Kim Bum-soo for the time being. If Kim continues to look like this, there will be no problem if he increases the portion of his bullpen.
